Michael T. Bowers

Michael Bowers is a well-known and respected visionary with over 15 years of professional experience in politics and public relations. He previously served on the Planning Commission for the City of Bakersfield and was recently appointed Commissioner for the Kern County Civil Service Department.

He currently serves as Vice President of Public Relations & Government Affairs for Centric Healthcare in Bakersfield, CA, and is a partner at Psychiatric Wellness, also in Bakersfield. A progressive thinker, Michael has served on numerous boards and community campaigns across California and the United States.

Mr. Bowers currently serves as a board member for Kern Health Systems, which supports over 410,000 Medi-Cal members in Kern County with an annual operating budget exceeding 2.5 billion dollars. Kern Health Systems, the County Health Authority, is an independent public agency that governs Kern Family Health Care. Its Board of Directors is appointed by the Kern County Board of Supervisors and includes major healthcare stakeholders such as physicians, safety-net providers, hospitals, pharmacies, and community representatives.
