Veteran’s Village
We have partnered with California Veterans Assistance Foundation to build Veteran’s Village and offer permanent housing to Bakersfield’s homeless veterans. Each home will be 400 sq/ft and fully set up.
CVAF has a long history of providing temporary housing for homeless veterans but has a need for permanent placements. The community is coming together to make that a reality!
What started as an empty lot in 2018 has now transformed into something truly meaningful. The vision for Covey Cottages was always rooted in restoring dignity and providing stability to local veterans. Years of planning, partnership, and perseverance brought this idea to life. Health Through Wholeness and Tim Terrio are proud to have played a role in turning this vision into reality.
Today, Covey Cottages stands as a safe and supportive space for those who’ve served our country. Each home is more than just shelter, it’s a fresh start. Seeing these cottages completed reminds us that long-term change is possible when a community comes together. We’re honored to have helped bring hope to Bakersfield’s veteran community.
